APKTool contains many Android reversing tools into one, such as Dex2Jar and Smali. It also can decode Android APK resources.

How to use

Install Java and follow Apktool's setup instructions for your operating system. Decode an APK into a new directory, inspect its resources and smali files, then rebuild if needed:

apktool d application.apk -o decoded
apktool b decoded -o rebuilt.apk

A rebuilt APK must be signed before installation. Apktool decodes resources and disassembles DEX; it does not reconstruct Java source.
